About the U3A Wine Appreciation Group
We meet every three months, each month a volunteer host runs the evening, choosing the venue and the theme. Of late Over Kellet Village hall has been the preferred venue as there is a convenient bus from Lancaster which stops outside the hall, also the hiring rates are very reasonable.
U3A members must telephone to book their place to enable the host to gauge the amount of wine to buy. We usually sample 6 different wines again it is up to the host how much research goes into each chosen wine. One of our members has his own vineyard and we usually go and help pick the grapes in October.
