Monthly Meeting at The Dukes

Membership of Lancaster and Morecambe U3A has grown so rapidly during the past 18 months that alternative premises for its Monthly Meeting became necessary - and, on 29th May, the Dukes Theatre became that new location.

138 members attended this first meeting at the Dukes, where they were warmly welcomed by Jo Sumpsion, the theatre's Director.

An attentive audience then listened to an enthusiastic presentation by Nick Henderson of the Corio Raptor care and Rehabilitation Centre. He was ably assisted by the appearance of a number of owls and other raptors, which coped well with the attention of an interested audience.

General opinion was that the new Monthly Meeting venue, with its excellent facilities for members both to socialise and listen to a lecture, was a highly satisfactory development in the life of Lancaster and Morecambe U3A.
