Welcome to our website

Lancaster and Morecambe U3A  is a group of around 700 men and women who are retired or semi-retired and have a wish to develop and share interests.  Its ethos is self-help. We have no entrance requirements and we welcome people of all backgrounds and any ethnicity or belief. The central concept of the U3A is that members participate in a learning experience to which all contribute and enhance the quality of life for ourselves and others. Our activities vary from academic through practical to pure relaxation. Importantly U3A also functions as a focal point for social activities. It is a self-help voluntary organisation. Each group is coordinated by a member of the group who will often have appropriate expertise. Members volunteer to provide the necessary administrative support, to disseminate information about our activities and run the social events  None of us gets paid for our time!

Lancaster and Morecambe U3A is an independent self governing charitable body but is affiliated to the Third Age Trust which brings together U3As all over Britain and is also part of a world wide movement.
