Walk on Monday 12th April to Latterbarrow
A group of sixteen of us set out on a beautiful sunny morning starting our walk from Wray Castle, Hawkshead. This took us south along the shores of Windermere, where amazingly! some very brave people were actually swimming in the lake. We trekked through some woodlands, then some moderate walking uphill which lead us to the splendid summit of Latterbarrow. We had lunch at the summit while basking in the sun and taking advantage of this exceptional weather and also the amazing views of the Langdales, Wetherlam, Crinkle Crags, Coniston Old Man and the Village of Hawkshead. We then continued downwards via woodlands, and Blelham Tarn, ending a wonderful day with refreshments at Wilf’s café in Staveley before returning home.
